MUSINGS ON THE MUSE

The muse thrusts man into ordered execution, providing a basis or framework BY which the understanding of his temporal position, the nature of his work, and what he must do With it- might come to be known. The muse is the lifeblood of the dream. Initial contact with this archetypal entity might be witnessed as exteriorizations in the material realm. A pretty girl. The way hips sway. So on, and so forth. The divine feminine coerces man to act in accordance with her will.

However, the muse is not merely an exteriorization. The muse in the material points to initiatives in the spiritual which can only be carried out by the Artist. He who Visions. The Seer. The Eternal Wanderer. The Journeyman. The Shaman.

Man needs a muse not simply for himself, but to achieve universal aims that would remain unaccomplished should his arousal remain dormant.

The Universe speaks in the language of rhetoric and desire.

Man must fall victim to the muse in order to gain INSTRUCTIONAL insightS into his own psyche- for the muse is yet the physical manifestation of the spiritual quest occurring within. Only when the man recognizes the muse as an animating force, may he come to relate to the entity in unobstructed truth- if not- he is simply blinded by that which seeks to devour him in the physical.

art is not content

Artistic work has been reduced to algorithmic matrixes which serve the lowest common denominator of human desire. In seeking to understand this current iteration, we fashion the audience as vapid consumers- hungry wolves who wish for nothing more than to satisfy unduly cravings.

How Do you feel about the prospect of offering your work up to a market of vapid consumers?

If the audience represents a pack of hungry wolves, where do we stand?

is the audience TRULY a hungry pack of wolves?

Hm.

I think the premise placed before us is bullshit-

I think that the audience is smarter than most will give them credit for. Deep down, they know something. There is a seed there. That which seeks to apprehend. That which seeks to know. To see. To transcend. There is an essence of humanity lodged within which yearns to be witnessed. The artist and their work can bear witness.

However this relationship, between artist and audience has been bastardized to the point at which the two are no longer in conversation- this makes the artist feel alienated- like their work has no societal value- and this forces the audience to accept work which is substandard in the project of human edification.

That is-

ART IS NOT CONTENT.

And- the audience isn’t stupid.

THOSE ANTITHETICAL TO THE SANCTITY OF THE HUMAN CONDITION wish for you to believe both of these lies.
